- Find the low pressure side port. It's usually on the left side of the engine bay, behind the firewall. It's a small section of metal pipe with two rubber hoses coming off each end.
- Connect the refrigerant to the port. Screw the dispenser hose and gauge onto the can of refrigerant. Pull back the outer slip ring, push it on, and release the ring.
- Slowly add Freon to the system.
- Check the pressure so you don't overfill.
- Check the air conditioner to see if it's blowing cold air.
Most cars hold between 28 and 32 ounces of refrigerant, that is about 2 cans of Freon.
